Hello Lisa & Debbie,

I am writing to let you know what fabulous people I think you are.  Meeting you two has been such a great blessing for my family and I.  I admire both of you and your work with the sugar gliders.  You are two of the most caring, knowledgeable people I have had the pleasure of meeting.  Your set up for your gliders is incredible, the dedication you both possess is amazingly wonderful.  So many people go into things for the love of the money, you and Debbie quite obviously are in this line of work for the love of your animals, because of this all who come in contact with you become blessed by your loving dedication.

Again thank you both,
Rose - and Brittany, Brooke, Nichole, Trisha, Hootie, Scooter, Sugar, Jessica, Frenchy, and Gizzmo Westley

When I was looking to buy a Glider, Lisa helped to educate me about sugar gliders so that I could bring them up happy and healthy.  She by far gave me more assistance and cared more for the Gliders themselves than any pet store I had been to or have been to since.

My name is Rob and I have always loved animals and found myself getting attached and bonding with the weirdest pets.  I have had every thing from frogs to ferrets. One day in a pet store I looked in a aquarium and saw a big lump of fur in the corner with about a dozen eyes staring back at me.  "What the heck are those" I asked the guy at the counter.  The only thing he could tell me is they were sugar gliders and they ate cat food and peanuts.  Yes, that's right cat food and peanuts. So out the door I went with 3 sugar gliders some cat food and a bag of peanuts.

I got home that night and started looking for information of these little guys and my head started spinning.  Everyone had something to say and they were all contradicting each other.  Finally I found the e-mail address of a  breeder called SunCoast Sugar Gliders.  So I e-mailed them asking about a hundred questions.  The next day I got a e-mail from Lisa answering every single one.  I picked her brain for a whole month asking every question I could until finally the big question came.  Do you have any babies for sale

She asked me how many I wanted and what sex and I told her I wanted 4 females to go with my 1 male and two females I had.  She told me if I was going to breed them they would be better off in small groups.  So I decided  to get 4 females 2 males.  I also told her that I wanted a little bit of a color difference and all unrelated (what a pain I am).  She not only hand picked the babies out, but also made sure they were all unrelated.  She took care of everything from booking a plane flight to making sure the weather was going to be ok that day.

The only thing I had to do is drive down and get them.  I was so worried when I got to the airport, even though she assured me that she has never once had a problem.  Finally the time came to open the box.  And what do you know there was a lump of fur in the corner and a dozen little eyes looking back at me.  It's unreal how sweet and playful these little guys are.  I could tell right away from the big clean packed box they came in and their sweet little faces she must have done something right raising these little guys.

A few months ago, I became interested in purchasing a pair of sugar gliders.  After searching through numerous pages on the Internet devoted to gliders, I narrowed my search down to three companies, and subsequently e-mailed them.  After receiving replies from these sugar glider breeders, I decided to choose Suncoast.  This choice was based on the expedience of the reply, the amount of breeding pairs of gliders that Suncoast had, the price, and the personal touch of the reply.  While, the other sugar glider breeders merely wrote me back with what amounted to a form letter, Lisa’s reply led me to believe that I would receive 100% customer satisfaction.  To that effect, Suncoast did not disappoint.

I arranged to meet with Lisa the next week and be introduced to my future gliders.  Once I arrived at the mutually agreed location, Lisa acquainted me with my new pets and allowed me to get comfortable with them.  While handling the gliders, Lisa sat down and talked to me for over an hour!  Moreover, any questions that I had (and believe me, I had quite a few), she was delighted to answer.

Additionally, the baby gliders that I bought from Suncoast were (and continue to be) extremely friendly and gentle.  Oftentimes, I have found that sugar glider breeders will lead people to make an impulse buy on what they claim is a affectionate pet, only for the buyer to take the animal home and find that it becomes aggressive and is quite unsociable.  In my case, I have witnessed quite the contrary.  Not only have the gliders made excellent pets, but every few weeks I get a call or an e-mail from Lisa asking me about my critters.  I could not have asked for a better place from where to get my gliders.  If you are interested in getting a sugar glider as a pet, I can think of no better place to obtain one from than SunCoast.  You will not only be happy with your new pet, but you will be delighted to receive such extraordinary customer service.

Lisa & Debbie,

Just wanted to let you how much we appreciate all your help in making sure our Sugar Babies are Healthy and Happy.  We cannot tell you how much we Love them!!!  They are so cute and personable how could you not!!! :)  Our babies bonded so quickly it's easy to tell they were raised with lots of TLC.

They love to cuddle and have their soft tummies rubbed.  Their favorite thing is to explore, running around the house with their tails up in the air like little banners flying to show where they are.  We bought hamster balls for them so we don't have to worry that they may get into anything harmful and they love the exercise.  Well, with how much food they really eat it's no wonder they have that much energy.  Once again thanks for everything, Ladies, you two are the Greatest God-parents !!! ;)  Happy Gliding, Sugars!!!

Lisa,

I can't thank you enough for being so caring and understanding when I visited you on my recent Florida trip. My 3 "babies" are doing wonderfully.  It is hard to believe that Stripes and Gidget are twin sisters.  Stripes is so mellow and easy going and Gidget, well, let's just say she is completely opposite of Stripes.  She is the one who usually does most of the crabbing and she is extremely fast and agile going from my pocket to my shoulder to my back and back onto the cage in a matter of 4 seconds. I think she is going to be my daredevil and will have to be on guard whenever she is out of the cage.  My little boy, Checkers, is the perfect little gentleman.  He is quiet and loves to be in my shirt pocket and it is funny that if he hears a strange sound I can look down at my pocket and see 2 big dark eyes looking up to me.  It's as if he wants some assurance that everything is okay, then he goes back down to finish his nap.

When I first decided to get a glider I went on the Internet to find some reputable sugar glider breeders.  Of all the ones I contacted, you were the first to respond.  You answered all my questions and gave me all the answers I needed to make the right decision on whether or not I should get a glider.  Not only 1 glider but a total of 3.  I don't think I will just stop at that amount - face it, I am a now a sugar glider "junkie".  The joy they have brought to me is the best therapy for trying to get through the long cold winter months.  And there is no question in my mind that I will only purchase them from you.  Your advice on every aspect of buying and raising sugar gliders shows that you and Debbie are very caring people and want the best for their sugar gliders.  Those of you who are thinking about purchasing a sugar glider should contact Suncoast Sugar Gliders.

I live in Ohio and I was going to Florida for a few weeks.  I contacted Lisa and sent her a deposit to hold two females for me.  I went directly from the airport to Lisa's house to pick up my babies.  It was love at first sight.  I know it may have been inconvenient for Lisa, but since I had just arrived I had no cage so she offered me a cage to use while I was there.  That is the type of person she is - caring.  After the first week of my visit I decided my girls needed a brother.  Thank God, Lisa had one that was about the same age as my girls.  Gliders can make excellent pets but if you are considering one, please get in touch with Lisa and Debbie - they can help you so much and even after you have purchased a glider or two they are available to help you and your new-found friend to settle into a long and rewarding relationship.  I am so much in love with my 3 that I know 100% I will have more and will go directly to Suncoast Sugar Gliders.

This is a letter I'm writing in hopes that it will  be on the web for people that own sugar gliders and for those that know nothing about them.  I was very fortunate to come across a breeder that was very helpful to a mother who was in need of a baby sugar glider.  My son has 2 gliders and my daughter who lives away from home also has one.  My son was very excited when our pair began breeding.

She became pregnant twice.  Both times she killed her baby.  My son was heartbroken the first time.  For the second birth he again was very excited.  That weekend he went to visit his dad and called me every couple of hours to make sure the baby was ok.  The next morning I woke to find she had again killed her baby.  I didn't have the heart to tell my 13 yr old that it had happened again.  So not in a very calm way I set out for help to locate a baby glider.

To my luck I found a lovely person that has a big heart and a very understanding way.  Her name is Lisa.  She worked very hard to find one of her smallest gliders that was ready to leave its mom.  Her partner and she did a great job in getting me a sweet baby girl that we named Lindsey.  I was going to let my son believe that this was his baby, but decided it was best to tell him the truth.  It was hard, but it was for the best.  These things happen in life and he can not be shielded from everything.

Sugar gliders are a joy to have.  But  everyone should know that along with the pleasure you get from them they take a lot of work and they need to be cared for properly and be fed the right diet.  They need to be handled on a daily basis.  THEY ARE NOT A PET TO BE PUT IN A CAGE AND FORGOTTEN ABOUT.  THEY NEED AS MUCH LOVE AS A CHILD DOES.

Remember they have no one to depend on other then you.  If you don't have the time to spend with them and see to it that they eat the right food, THEN THIS PET IS NOT A PET FOR YOU.  They may be neat to look at , but they need so much more then just a cage to live in.  Make sure you know what you are doing before you take one on as a family member, because that's what they become.  If you learn what is needed and how to care for them properly you will have many many years of pleasure and love from a little creature that has placed its life in your hands.

Good Luck to those that have sugargliders in their life.  It's an experience that is like no other.  And thank you Lisa for being the kind of person you are.  You have a big heart and a very caring manner.  If there is ever anything I can do for you, please just ask.  You were a godsend to a desperate mother.  You cared about a the feelings of a little boy and understood where I was coming from.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  You definitely have a special place in mine.

Dear Lisa,

Hello from Cedar Key.  Pat, Caely, and Athena here to update you on our little critters.  We decided to name them Harry and Herminie.  They have been doing great, they love the wheel and seem to like blueberries the best.  Both of them have settled in well and seem to love their new home as much as we love them.  We sent you some pictures of our little buggers (including Caely), hope you enjoy them.

Thank you very much.  Sincerely,

Pat, Athena, and Caely

P.S.  Hoping to see Caely's pic on your website...

Hi Lisa,

This is Billy and Shannon reporting to you how the new little baby is doing.  He has a wonderful personality and seems to like meeting new people.  We let him wander around the apartment a little and he seemed very puzzled when he got on the carpeted floor.  He doesn't cry very often, just at night when he wants someone to play with him.  Other than that, he doesn't make a peep.  In fact, I walked by him this afternoon and realized he was awake, but he didn't make a noise or even hardly move.  I am used to Kip making tons of noise when he is awake!

We put the baby in the small cage we have for him and let him sleep in the same room as Kip, but they couldn't get to each other.  Kip noticed the smell of a new Glider, but doesn't seem to really care.  He acts the same and even walks right past the cage without acknowledging the baby.  I think he is willing to put up with a new little brother.  We are going to continue to separate them for a while and slowly give them supervised time together to see if they will play or not.

The baby on the other hand, seems to like Kip and wants to play with him.  Every time I put him in the room where Kip is, he perks up from the smell.  I think he looks forward to cuddling with Kip and finds comfort in there being another sugar glider in the apartment.  Thank you again for being such a good help in making owning a Glider so easy.  I don't think we would enjoy our Sugar Gliders if they had not be nurtured so much by you when they were little joeys.  You do a great job with them!

Thanks,

Shannon and Billy

P.S. Both Kip and the baby really like the sugar glider food, so I think Billy and I will continue to feed it to them.

I had read a lot on the Internet about how stressful shipping could be on sugar gliders and was a bit concerned.  Having read many glowing references about Sun Coast Sugar Gliders and how successful they had been with shipping, I called and spoke to Lisa.  Lisa took a great deal of time in answering my questions and assured me that she would be available for continued support as I began my adventure with my new babies.  I purchased 2 adorable little girls from Lisa and Addy and Tilly are doing great.  They don't appear stressed from their flight from St. Petersburg, FL to New Orleans, LA and have already begun bonding with me.  On day 2 Tilly sat in my hand and ate a grape, while Addy ate a grape from me in their pouch.  Lisa has responded quickly to my emails about what to feed them the first few days and made wonderful recommendations regarding their diet and care.  I feel like we have gained a new extended family.

Thanks Lisa!  Luv,

Andrea, Tilly and Addy.

Hi there Lisa!

I'm very happy with the sugar glider I just purchased with you.  She instantly took to her new home and i don't think she could be any happier.  As I told you with Gizmo, how I take them down to the kitchen every night to pick out his own food, I have started to do that with the baby.  I have named her Maguiy, but I call her Maggy for short.  I just thought it fit because the names are both from the movie gremlins!!!  Tomorrow I teach her how to eat mealworms.

I put her cage right next to gizmo's cage and they (from what I can tell so far) is they love each other.  They keep me up all night talking and singing together.  Just last night they did the number "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better" from Annie Get Your Gun!!! :)

I have not let them meet yet.  I am waiting a couple of weeks, but I'll let you know how it goes.  Tony promised me next pay check he would let me go shopping on your site for a few things, so I will talk to you in the near future!!!  Talk to you then!!!

Always,

Nicole Nemeth + Maggy and Gizmo

Well hello there Miss Lisa!!

First and foremost, I want to say what a pleasure it was meeting and spending time with you today.  Both Aaron and myself truly enjoyed our visit.

Be sure to pass that along to Debbie as well - let her know that it was a pleasure meeting her and be sure to tell her that Aaron enjoyed the little side discussion they were able to have while you and I were browsing in the "SunCoast Glider Store"/ Dining Room.

Honestly Lisa, I couldn't have asked for a better breeder/mentor.  You NOT ONLY have given me QUALITY pets but also QUALITY information/advice.  If I hadn't found you, I probably would have NEVER found a Sugar Glider breeder that met my expectations.  I wouldn't be able to experience ALL that I'm about to experience.  I wouldn't be able to call myself a Sugar Mommy like I can today.  So THANK YOU!!  Thank you so very much.  I WON'T LET YOU DOWN!!!

As you can tell, we arrived home safely.  "Santa" and "Miss America" didn't make ONE peep the ENTIRE ride home.  They have been sleeping ever so peacefully and soundly since we last saw you this morning.  We had NO problems transferring them from the bonding pouch to their new sleeping pouch in the temporary cage you so kindly provided for us (THANK YOU).  They haven't come out for food and water as of yet, but we hear them beginning to wake up and are expecting their precious little faces to appear shortly.  We took your advice and ran out to the grocery store for the items you  suggested - we'll see how they take to them tonight.

Well, that about does it for now.  Again, I want to thank you.  I can't say enough good things about you Lisa.  You run QUITE the operation.  I'm not only impressed but also grateful - grateful for the service you provide for us new "Mommies".

Expect to hear a LOT more from me in the VERY near future - haha, if not again tonight then in the morning.

I'M A SUGAR MOMMY!!!!  Sorry, just had to let that out - I'm boiling over with excitement.

Have a wonderful evening.

Alison

Lisa,

Remember me?  I got a little boy and a little girl sugar glider from you about a month ago.  I thought I'd e-mail you and give you an update on how they're doing.  I named the boy "Hopper" and the girl "Piglet" (but we call her Piggy for short).  The names really do fit them well.  Hopper doesn't seem to like to walk very much.  Even if he only has to go a couple inches, he hops there.  And Piglet is so messy!  She poops all over and plays in her food.  And she squeals like a little pig when she wants to be left alone.  She is adorable.  They both are.  Anyway, things are going good with them, I love them to death.  I'm really glad I got them.  They are happy and healthy and really seem to like their new home.  I'll have to send you pics soon now that we have a digital camera here.

Thanks so much,

Tricia

Hi Lisa,

I just wanted to say my little girl is so funny...she fussed at me for a little while and it is amazing what a slice of apple dipped in yogurt will do.  She went from fussy to climbing in my hand within 5 min.  Fly Girl really seems to love her cage too, she ran around it all night last night while I sat and just laughed at her.  I can already see that we are going to be just fine and she is going to bring a lot of happiness to my life.  I just want to say thank you for all your help, and being so patient with all my questions and worries.  You were so great and I appreciate everything you have done.  I will keep in touch and send pictures when i get them developed!

A couple of months ago I looked into getting some sugar gliders.  I emailed a lot of people and Lisa was the person with the most reasonable answers.  So for a few months me and her emailed back and forth and she answered every agonizing question I could come up with.  I was really afraid to ship them, so I was going to have my mother go down to FL and pick them up.  Yet my mother told me she couldn't get them until January which was another two months  wait.  So I waited and waited, then on December 21 I came home to a big surprise.  My mother had gotten me two sugar gliders, and they were so cute (and still are).

I asked her how in the world she did it, and she said she was talking to Lisa for the past few months and had them shipped.  My mother said that they were fine with the shipping and that it was perfectly safe, that there was no trouble at all.  The sugar gliders are the sweetest thing I have ever seen, my dad even had to admit it.  Yet there is a lot of responsibility to taking good care of them, and Lisa can tell you step by step everything you need to know.  Thanks Lisa for the cutest pets in the world.

Hi Lisa and Debbie!

I am writing to tell you THANK YOU for the support and advice you have given !!  When I put out the word that I needed a Friend for my lonely Girl you were the only one to offer some help!  Not only did you have one Girl, you had two.  Now we are a 4 Glider family !

We recently added a little boy named Joey.  He lives with Big Girl and Boogie is with Little Girl.  They are all happy and they LOVE their "Wodent Wheels".  The last time we saw you my Husband bought me two Canaries at the expo.  The male had scaly leg mites and air sack mites.  I have nursed him back to health.  He was singing for the first time today !!

Please tell Dr. C , Thank You Very much for all the info.  I love the web page.  She is Great and very caring and dedicated, as are the rest of you!!  Wish I was closer so I could have her as my Vet.  I have just now signed up for your newsletter! :)  =^-^=

Thank you for making my dream of owning Sugar Gliders come true!!  I will have to agree... Viva La Glider !
